ImHavingOne is a small, private way to let your friends know you're having a drink. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how you stay in control. We wrote it to be read.

Who we are
ImHavingOne ("we", "us") runs the ImHavingOne app and its servers. You can reach us at support@imhavingone.com.
What we collect
- Your mobile number, so we can send you a verification code and let you log in. Your password is stored scrambled (hashed), never in a readable form.
- Your profile: nickname, first and last name, date of birth (to check you are an adult), optional gender, and an optional profile photo or avatar.
- Your moments: the drink type you choose, the time, the photo you take, and your approximate location when you log a moment.
- Your connections: friends, friend requests, favourites, people you have blocked, and KaClinks (cheers) you send and receive.
- Safety reports you make, and reports made about you.
- Your notification choices, and a push-notification token for your phone so we can send notifications you have switched on.
- Basic device details: your phone type (iPhone or Android), the app version, and when you were last using the app. We use this to fix problems and know which versions are in use.
- Technical logs, such as your internet address, used for security and to stop abuse. These are not used to build a profile of you.
What we do not collect
- We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell your personal information.
- We do not read your contacts, your photo library (beyond a picture you choose), or your location in the background. Location is only used while the app is open and you log a moment.
- The number of drinks you have had is private to you. It is never shown to other people.
Why we use it
- To run the app: show your moments to your friends, deliver friend requests, KaClinks and notifications.
- To keep people safe: confirm you are an adult, review reports, and suspend accounts that break our rules.
- To keep the service secure and working: prevent abuse, fix bugs and plan improvements.
- To understand the service as a whole, using combined totals (for example, how many people logged a lager this week). We may share anonymous, combined totals with partners such as drinks brands. These never identify you or anyone else.
Who can see what
- Only you and your accepted friends can see your moments. There is no public feed and strangers cannot see you on the map.
- Friends see your approximate location, not your exact one. You choose how approximate in Profile, under Location & Privacy: general (about 2 km), balanced (about 500 m) or accurate (about 50 m).
- Friends can open the photo of a moment while it is live, which is about an hour. After that it shows only as a quiet name on the map.
- People you block cannot see you, find you or contact you.
- A small number of ImHavingOne staff can see account details and reported content when needed to run the service and keep people safe. They cannot browse your photos or location.
Who we share data with
We use a few trusted companies to run the app. They only handle data for that purpose.
- Microsoft Azure: hosts our servers, database and photo storage, in the South Africa North region.
- SMSPortal: sends your verification code by SMS.
- Expo, Apple and Google: deliver push notifications to your phone.
- Apple and Google, as the app stores you download the app from.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety. If the business is ever sold or merged, your data would move with it under this same policy.
How long we keep it
- We keep your profile and moments until you delete them or your account.
- When you delete your account, we remove your profile, photos, moments, friends, KaClinks, blocks, favourites and phone details straight away, and free up your number. We keep one anonymous record, with no name, number or photos, so that safety reports about the account stay valid.
- Our database backups roll off automatically, so deleted data disappears from backups within about 7 days.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your details: Profile, then Edit profile.
- Delete your account and data: Profile, then Delete my account. You can also email us if you cannot get into the app.
- Turn off location, camera or notifications at any time in your phone's settings, or choose which notifications you get in Profile.
- Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or complain about how we handled it: email support@imhavingone.com.
- If you are in South Africa you can also complain to the Information Regulator under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). If you are in the UK or EU, you have the rights set out in the UK and EU GDPR, including complaining to your data protection authority.
Adults only
ImHavingOne is for people who are 18 or older and of legal drinking age where they live. We ask for your date of birth and do not knowingly keep information about anyone younger. If you think someone under 18 is using the app, tell us at support@imhavingone.com and we will act quickly.
Security
Information travels between your phone and our servers over an encrypted connection. Photos are stored privately and only served to people who are allowed to see them. Passwords are hashed. No system is perfectly secure, but we take care and keep our access tight.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
